This is probably one of my favourite makeovers to date! Here’s Betty, the designer behind Betty Blue’s Loungerie. She makes wonderful loungewear so you don’t have to loose the glamour while at home. I recently shot for her this fabulous robe.

Betty is so extremely talented, having graduated in contour fashion not long ago, she already started her own business, and from what I been seeing, she is heading for success!

It was only a couple of years ago when we did a photoshoot inspired in Alfred Hitchcock with her final collection.

Although you can’t tell, this is her first modeling shoot, and she was absolutely great at it, as she already practiced a good range of poses, and that always helps.

She also brought in all the furniture and fabrics/throws/pillows you see on these shots. As well as making all that she is wearing here (I believe will be available to buy soon! so why don’t you add her facebook page to your “likes” and keep yourself posted?

We did a classic wavey hairstyle and 50′s eyeliner makeup to go with her new loungewear range.

Dee was one of the first customers approaching me for my makeover shoot deal.

I wanted to wait a little while in showing it, since my targeted customer is the female gender, and Dee is effectively a guy.

Since I like a challenge, while it’s quite a different kind of makeover, we booked it in, he wanted to feel more comfortable dressing up and find what suits him as a female.

I was pleased to hear that on the same night he got approached by a photographer already for a shoot after seeing the styling I did on him, so I might have started something for him there

I used 2 shades of MAC full coverage foundation on the skin, as well as contouring.

We went for bright blue and navy blue eyeshadow, which, even though I recommend going for opposite shades on eyes to make them stand out, blue, does make blue eyes pop too. And bright red lipstick, with Illamasqua pencil and Sleek pout paints.

I defined the eyebrows with a mixture of red and brown eyeshadows to match the hair.

Thankfully Dee also has long hair so that was easy, curled it and styled it into a burlesque look, to go with the outfits he brought with him, including a What Katie Did corset, and bustle, and a classic black dress. Continue reading →

Catherine is the brains behind the femme fatale Kiss Me Deadly lingerie brand, we have been working together on all the imagery for 6 years, and, in the last few, she’s been helping me do the photoshoots for all the new collections (since when I model for my own work, I always got to have an assistant to press the button and make things a bit easier). Finally, the roles have changed for once, and she came to my studio to have her picture taken last week for the lingerie trade magazines and take part on my little blog.

Catherine has got the longest hair I ever worked with! which apparently was cut before the shoot… so after a little while and a hundred pins, I managed to make her hair curly, and last for the whole shoot.

On the left picture, Catherine is wearing the Amelie bra, which is becoming quite popular, and a new harness thingie (no name for it yet!) that will be available soon in both ivory and black at Kiss Me Deadly. I love how it looks like lingerie as outerwear without being explicit.

The hair flower is by Sophisticated Lady Accessories, who make truly stunning pinup hair clips at a very reasonable price, I can’t wait to stock up for more, since they really finish the look.

Posing in a plain studio backdrop isn’t easy I tell you, so Catherine was most pleased when I offered a knife as a prop! As after all, we are femme fatales, a weapon is always at hand! So you been warned.

Last week, I did a makeover shoot with Helena, who came to visit the UK all the way from California.

Helena approached me after I posted about my shoot offer (still a couple of slots left!) and booked the shoot to match with her trip. Pictured on the right she is wearing a corset by What Katie Did, along with a satin set from Fairygothmother.

I forgot to take the natural prior shot (silly me!) so she was kind to take a snap with her camera for the blog.

We discussed beforehand about doing a bright eye look, to match the gorgeous Pin-up Girl Clothing skirt in turquoise blue that she is wearing on the next pictures.

For this I used a Kryolan pressed blue eyeshadow as a base, Makeup forever “72″ on the crease, and Nars “China Blue” on top.

I am quite obsessed with eyebrows and I thought that strong brows would go well with these colours. I filled them with MAC “Stud” since Helena has black hair.

I mixed a couple of shades of MAC Studio Fix Fluid to get the perfect match for her complexion, and I contoured with La Femme blush in “Soft Beige”. La Femme blushes are incredibly pigmented so a little goes a looong way.

MAC’s Lip gelee was then applied on lips, with spice lipliner. (I was going to check out the exact shade but I noticed they don’t make them anymore!).

Last friday I had the stunning 6’2′ and perfectly formed amazon Lady Lucie for a make-over photoshoot at my studio. Lucie is a extremely talented latex designer from London who runs Lady Lucie Latex.

I made her website design and I modeled for her in the past and I have to say her designs are absolutely amazing, and they pull you in all the right places, her clothing is also super reasonably priced and she excels in made to measure both corsets and latex couture, owning a few of her pieces myself.

This was the first time we met in person after being in touch for such a long time, and it makes me glad that I finally had the opportunity to photograph her.

Lucie is wearing a couple of her designs that will soon be available on her site.

We went for a clean classy look for this shoot, with Veronica Lake style hair (with a twist, since Lucie has a shaved undercut), strong eyebrows done with a mix of Anastasia of Beverly Hills eyebrow powder and MAC brow pencil “Stud”.

I used Urban Decay‘s most famous Naked palette (I just got this and it’s worth all the hype it’s got!) on the eyes, as well as corner lashes, finishing with a bright red lip with Illamasqua’s strumpet liner, and Sleek pin-up.

To achieve this and most wavey hairstyles, hair was curled with GHD‘s and then set in pincurls (making sure they are all in the same direction) with a lot of hairspray, I find this the most effective way to make curls last if you don’t have a lot of time. The Style is then brushed into shape.
