Alison makeover

Alison is a talented lady from London, who runs Obsidian Dream designs. She came over to my studio in Ipswich and booked a makeover photoshoot for her birthday :)

On Alison’s eyebrows I used MAC “Stud” brow pencil, and MAC studio concealer in nw15 as highlight.

On her eyes I used MAC forest green eyeshadow all over the eyelid on top of Limecrime eyeshadow helper. then I

added MAC reflects pearl on top for shimmer and MAC pink pearl pigment on top. I drew some feathery lines with Maybelline’s gel eyeliner and finished up with Amazing Shine Eyelashes.

To emphasize Alison’s cheekbones I used NARS Laguna bronzer. Lips were lined with MAC burgundy lipliner and MAC rebel lipstick.

Hair was crimped with crimping irons by Babyliss professional, and backcombed. That’s all, I hope you like it!

Paris Makeovers: Carole

If you follow me on Facebook, you will know I recently went to Paris! and a few lucky ladies got makeovers booked in. Thanks to the help of Stephane Roy (who is a very talented photographer and you should book him up if you are over in Paris), who let me use his studio space to do this while I was there modelling, I had an incredible time! you can see some pictures from my trip here.

If you missed me this time, I have plans to come back at some point soon! So do drop me a line if you are interested in a makeover either in Paris, or here, in Ipswich (1.20h from Central London).

First up on my blog is the beautiful Carole. She brought up clothing from Monster Ladies and Sophisticated Lady Accessories.

Products used:

FACE: Mac studio cream, MAC pro full coverage foundation (buffed in lightly). NARS Laguna bronzer + Nars Orgasm blush, set with Laura Mercier invisible powder.

EYES: MAC spiked brow pencil, Urban Decay Naked Palette, Maybelline black gel eyeliner and Amazing Shine human hair eyelashes.

Lips: Illamasqua pencil in “feisty”, MAC Russian red matte lipstick and Makeup Forever lab shine red glittery gloss that Carole brought in!

Hair was curled in with GHD’s and pincurls, and I used Regis “get it pressed” heat protection spray, that smells yummy and has a light hold, great for curls!

Makeover shoot with Kaori

Kaori is the designer behind Kaori’s Latex dreams, I asked her to model for me about a year ago for Kiss Me Deadly lingerie, for the spies and super villains collection, since I knew she is stunning!

She booked a makeover in to get some beautiful pictures of herself, and on them she is also wearing some of her exclusive designs.

Please visit her website linked here to see more of her work and commission her for an amazing latex outfit!

Styling wise, Kaori wanted the classic 40′s look, and I think it suits her amazingly well, if you would like to find out any information on products used, leave a comment, I did pretty much cover all the steps in previous makeover shoots.

In other news, I will be relocating to Ipswich in less than 4 weeks, and I will only take makeover shoot bookings in Colchester within the next 2 weeks at 20% off, if you are interested in booking a slot (I won’t be doing many!) please email me at morgana@iberianblackarts.com, otherwise you might have to travel a little bit further and wait a tiny bit longer until I am all set up and ready again.

Check out the rest of the images under the cut!

Makeover shoot with Nicola

Nicola is a lovely young girl from Norway that came last week for a makeover shoot.

She was after some nice boudoir/pinup style pictures of herself, so for this, I made some mini victory rolls on her, and added some kanekalon hair for a little “something”.

She is wearing some of my favourite flowers by Sophisticated Lady Accessories to finish the look.

I am a bit of  a freak when it comes to making sure eyebrows match the hair, so I used an Inglot fuchsia pink eyeshadow (very pigmented!) on her brows.

As her hair colour is already quite bold, I kept the eyeshadow neutral, with my trusty Urban Decay “Naked” palette. Some eyeliner and Amazing shine eyelashes and voila! here’s a gorgeous pinup girl.

Nicola is very pale, so on her skin I used MAC full coverage foundation in w1 buffed in with a Sigma flat kabuki brush, and concealer by Collection 2000 (which is amazing quality, and also cheap!) on blemishes.

Nars Laguna bronzer to contour, and MAC syrup lipstick to finish it off.

I hope you like it! More pictures after the cut.

Royal Black Couture – My custom Brides of Dracula inspired corset

For the longest time, I had a well kept box, full of beaded lace, silk, tulle, and lace remnants, hoping one day, to have the corset of my dreams come to life. Finding a designer that would be up for the task and do something like I had in mind was not easy, when I heard in conversation that Royal Black Couture & Corsetry was experienced in theatre costume design, and that she offered to make me a corset, my eyes sparkled and soon enough I brought in the box, which she took away to Austria to experiment with.

I have a little obsession since very young with the Brides of Dracula of Francis ford coppola film, one of my favourite movies, I learnt that their garments were stained with tea and aged with stones to look ancient, and I wanted this for my corset. Royal Black did this, and so much more, she deconstructed the beading in some of the lace and added it on top, added organza, that she hand aged, and sewn the tulle, creating a draped broken skirt illusion. After all I wanted this garment to look like I been buried in it, and it came out absolutely perfect.

Other sources of inspiration came from Miss Havisham and Corpse Bride.

Chances are, that I will probably never get married, so I decided this will be my burial costume when the time comes.

I don’t get the chance these days to create images for myself, and selfishly, I made these to my own desire, I couldn’t bring myself to stain this beautiful piece so the blood was added in photoshop afterwards, I wanted a paint/mixed media look, and that’s why it doesn’t look that real or slimy. I wanted to have it a splatter feel to it.

Embellishments apart, the construction of the corset is also flawless, it fits to perfection and gives me more curves than I ever had, in every way. I completely recommend Royal Black Couture and Corsetry to make the outfit of your dreams. And she makes costumes for males too!

The head piece, I made myself using a small deer skull, painted the antlers with gold, and covered it in pearls. I also used the left over tulle for the veil.

Royal Black has just launched their new website, where I am also on the cover!, go check it out because it’s full of amazing work.

Creations by Liv Free

I taken a like to photograph designers and their own creations.

Liv Free came over the other day to model some classic 50′s  hats for Kitty Hats, and in exchange, I photographed her with some of her stunning designs.

Liv is also a model as well as makeup artist, but on these pictures I did the hair and makeup as well.

Liv’s creations are right up my street and we used them in a couple of photoshoots for Kiss Me Deadly (the pirates theme, and also, still to be published, a Maleficent theme!).

Makeover shoot with Yazzmin

Yazzmin is a professional samba carnival dancer living in London, who can also be booked as model through her modelmayhem.

Yazzmin’s hair is naturally very curly, so I re-styled it with my trusty GHD’s to make slightly looser curls, then gave her victory rolls.

The lacey pattern she is wearing on her face, is called face lace, and it can be purchased here.

Face lace are intricate makeup designs that don’t smudge, so I suggested using these for this reason, you can peel them off and they will stay put all day.

We paired it with the typical smokey cat eye, and red lips.

The fabulous royal blue latex dress she is wearing on the picture on the right, it’s by no other than Lady Lucie Latex. Available here. And the lace shrug on the pictures below is by Metamorph.

Yazzmin is great to work with so don’t hesitate to contact her for a shoot in or around London.

Makeover shoot with Alex

Alex, from London, came over last week for a makeover.  She wanted some more glamour shots so I am only showing here the fashion looking ones.

We went for a Bridgett Bardot type hair style for this look, which was pinned back and back combed.

For the eyes, I did a smokey eye using MAC patina eyeshadow as a base, and Urban Decay naked palette eyeshadows in side car and dark horse.

I also used a peachy/orangey eyeshadow from Stars makeup haven to warm it up a little and complement her hair.

Finished with Amazing Shine eyelashes (my latest great find! made from human hair and retailing only for £1.99, these are better than MAC ones…).

Lips were Spice lipliner from Mac and Cherish lipstick I believe…

That awesome lace piece is by Metamorph.dk, and you can get it on Etsy directly from the designer here.

The corset she is wearing on these pictures was made by Ophelia Fancy.

Emma is the designer of Playful Promises Lingerie, while I haven’t done any photography work for them as a brand, I worked with them on their website layouts and the magazine in the past, Emma is very involved also with the Kiss Me Deadly brand, so it was nice to have her at my studio for a shoot of her own self!
